How to book for the Pop Up Pug Cafe in Brighton

We are hosting the next Pop Up Pug Cafe event in Brighton. If you have some questions about the event and how to book, we hope you’ll find the answers here. If you don’t, please contact us!

When is the Pop Up Pug Cafe Brighton?

10am – 5.15pm on Saturday 22nd July. The hours of the event may increase depending on demand. Time slots of 75 minutes will be allocated to attendees.

Where will it be held?

The Pop Up Pug Cafe will be at Cafe Plenty in Brighton. The address is 3-4 Circus Parade, New England Road, Brighton BN1 4GW.

Please note while Cafe Plenty is absolutely dog-friendly, they operate as a normal cafe for humans. Only on the 22nd July, will they transform into the Pop Up Pug Cafe.

How can I book?

We will take bookings from 11am on Saturday 24th June. Demand is high and we advise you make your booking request as soon as you can. Due to the huge volume of requests, we can only respond to successful booking requests – we are really sorry about that!

Step 1

You will need to send a booking request to the appropriate email, depending on whether you own a pug or not.

Please email us your booking requests -using subject line Brighton Booking Request and include the following information:

1. Your Full Name

2. Whether you are a Pug Owner or Pug Lover

3. If you are a Pug Owner – how many pugs or pug crosses you are bringing (max 3) include NAMES & attach quality photo

Please include their NAMES, whether they are a pug cross and attach a good quality photo to the email.

4. Contact Number

5. Human group size

Please including yourself in this. If you are coming with 1 guest your human group size would be 2. You can word it ‘Myself + 1 guest = human size of 2’.

Please keep to a minimum of 2 humans per 1 pug. We are able to cater for a few groups and families up to the size of 4 but we will not be able to fulfill all requests.

Due to our strict capacity limits, children count as guests but there is no booking fee for under 2’s.

6. Your 1st and 2nd preferred time slots.

The 75-minute time slots available are:

10am
11.30am
1pm
2.30pm
4pm

These may increase depending on demand, and you will be contacted with a new time slot if it becomes available.

Step 2

If you have been successful, we will email you with a time slot, the terms of your booking and you will need to confirm you would like to go ahead (you have 24 hours). We will then email you a unique PayPal link so you can pay us the correct booking fee amount (£5 per person) for your booking.

Please note it is £5 per person including children. Under 2’s are exempt from the booking fee charge.

If any part of your booking request is missing we will not be able to process it. Please ensure all the details requested are sent

The booking fee covers the administration of the event, and a proportion will be donated to Muffin Pug Rescue our chosen charity.

Step 3

Once we have received your payment we will send you a booking confirmation along with the terms and conditions of your booking. You will need to either print this off or show it to us on your phone on the day.

Can the booking fee be payed on the door?

Unfortunately we cannot take any payment on the door. The booking fee must be paid during booking, and we cannot confirm your booking without receiving payment first.

I’m afraid we only accept PayPal for payment of the booking fee. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can sign up at Paypal – it’s incredibly easy to set up and safe to use.

Is the booking fee refundable?

The booking fee is non-refundable. If for any reason you cannot attend, you must contact Pug Cafe (at least 5 days in advance of the event) and it will be at their discretion whether they transfer your booking to a friend of family member of your choice.

We reserve the right to cancel or amend your booking at any time. If the event or your booking is cancelled by Pug Cafe we will provide a refund to you.

We confirm all bookings 5 days prior to the event – we will do this via Facebook and email.

Will Cafe Plenty be open as normal that day?

No, it will be closed to the public and it will be classed as a private event. You will need a booking for the Pop Up Pug Cafe to come in.

Will it be safe?

Yes! Our main priority is to host a safe and fun event for all, which is why we are taking bookings to adhere to our strict capacity limit. We will do everything possible to ensure the event is safe for both humans and pugs.

Cafe Plenty is a large, airy and spacious venue with high ceilings and two front doors. There is appropriate temperature control, and fresh water supplied throughout the day to pugs. We will do our best to ensure it’s a comfortable environment for your pug, but we expect all pug owners to act responsibly, keep a very close eye on their pug and bring sufficient cooling aids.

The event may say there are hundreds of people and pugs attending, however they will spread safely and evenly across the day. We only allow a certain number of pugs and humans at one time in order for it be safe for all.

Pug Cafe and Cafe Plenty cannot take responsibility of your pug while they are at Pop Up Pug Cafe, it is the responsibility of the person named in the booking who is classed as the pug owner.

Are there any restrictions?

Yes! If you are bringing your pug(s) they must be:

Well socialised with other dogs

Up to to date with their vaccinations

Well behaved and unlikely to show aggression to other dogs around food

Healthy and not showing any symptoms of contagious illness

Not suffering or recently suffered from Kennel Cough

By putting in your request you are confirming that you adhere to the following. While we understand this is a new experience for your dog, we take it in good faith from you that they are well-behaved and well socialised with other dogs.

How many pugs can I bring?

Maximum three, but if you want to bring more please put in a request in your booking request email – it may not be fulfilled, but we will try our best to accommodate your grumble of pugs.

If your pug is celebrating a birthday on the day, please let us know! We’d love to help them celebrate.

Are pug crosses allowed?

Yes! We absolutely love pug mixes just as much as pugs. If your pug is a mix, please tell us what mix in your email.

Are other breeds allowed to attend?

We love all dogs, but as this event is a Pop Up Pug Café we can only accommodate pug or pug crosses. We cannot have doggy siblings that are not pugs, either.

My pug has never been to a coffee shop before, I’m not sure how they will react?

We recommend taking your pug to a dog-friendly coffee shop or café prior to the event to ensure they are OK in this environment. If your dog finds it stressful in any way, please do not bring them to the event and let us know as soon as possible.

Do I need a pug to attend?

The Pop Up Pug Café is primarily for pug owners, but we have limited spaces available for pug lovers too. We want both pug owners and lovers to be able to enjoy this event, but we will not be able to cater for all booking requests.

When will I receive booking confirmation?

You will not hear from us immediately as we will need time to process and organise the bookings. We anticipate it will take 24-72 hours and possibly up to 5 days to hear from us.

Due to the unique nature of the event, pug owner bookings will be prioritised. We will organise pug lovers after pug owners have filled a time slot. If you are a pug lover it may take longer to hear from us – if you could be as patient as possible we would appreciate it hugely.

What happens if I don’t hear from you and I haven’t received a slot?

If you have not heard from us it means your request was not immediately successful and you will be automatically placed on a waiting list and contacted if a slot becomes available. Don’t worry, cancellations are inevitable so don’t give up hope!

Will you be doing more events for pugs?

We are so pleased so many people have asked us about this. We are bringing the Pop Up Pug Cafe to different locations around the UK and our third event will be in London.

Please note, we are only taking bookings for Pop Up Pug Cafe Brighton currently. Please do NOT send us your request for London – booking is not currently open.

How can I find out who else is attending my slot?

Please join our exclusive group PUGCAFE, to meet fellow pugs-about-town and see sneak peeks of what you can expect on the day including doggy cakes.

Where is the nearest train station to Cafe Plenty?

London Road Brighton station is 7 minutes walk and Brighton mainline station is 8 minutes walk.

Where is the nearest car park?

Vantage Point Car Park – 3 Elder Pl, Brighton BN1 4GY

London Road Car Park – 42 Providence Pl, Brighton BN1 4GE
